Ethel S Miller

Ethel Sindel Miller, age 91, went to be with her Heavenly Father on November, 20, 2017 in Champaign, IL. She was born September 14, 1926 to Fredrick and Agnes Sindel on Cherry Bottom Road, Gahanna. They preceded her in death as did her brothers: Elmer, Walter, Norman, and Donald. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Samuel E. Miller, daughter and son-in-law, Robert and Karen Vander Schoor, and son, Steven A. Miller.

Ethel will be great missed by her daughter, Cindy (Brian) Rummery of Champaign, IL; daughter-in-law, Lisa Miller of Blacklick, OH; grandchildren, Andrea (John) Fedele of Golden, CO, Ben (Nicole) Miller of Haddonfield, NJ, Jonathan Vander Schoor of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, Kelly (Todd) Castagno of New York, NY, Lauren (Patrick) Wilson of Philadelphia, PA, Christina (Josh) Agapito of Milwaukee, WI, and Katie and Brigitte Rummery of Champaign IL; and great-grandchildren John Dante, Elena, Gemma, Luca, Lila, Peyton, Parker, and Silas.

Ethel graduated from Gahanna Lincoln High School as Valedictorian in 1944, attended Capital University and The Ohio State University, graduating in 1948 with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. In June of 1947 she married Samuel E. Miller, a graduate of Mifflin High School and The Ohio State University. He was President of Palmer-Miller-Nelson Insurance Agency prior to his stoke in 1984 and death in 1988. Ethel's occupations included teaching Home Economics, bookkeeping at Lutheran Social Services, and working at the Insurance Agency in various capacities. She was an amazing, faithful, loving and nurturing wife and mom throughout her lifetime. Ethel was a lifelong member of Peace Lutheran Church, where she served and loved God, friends and family throughout the years. She enjoyed getting together with her classmates from Gahanna Lincoln each year and looked forward to seeing them. She lived life exceptionally and blessed all those who knew her.

Visitation will be at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST Chapel 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna on Sunday, December 17th from 4-8 pm, and Funeral Services on Monday, December 18th at 11 am, with visitation an hour prior at Peace Lutheran Church, 455 Clark State Road, Gahanna. Interment to follow, Mifflin Cemetery, Gahanna. Pastor Kai Nilsen officiating. Memorial contributions may be designated in her memory to Peace Lutheran Church or to Willowbrook of Savoy Memory Care, 406 W. Curtis Rd, Savoy, IL 61874.
