Earl is survived by his wife, Lois and cat Dallas; son Joseph (Gail) and son Robert (Ria); grandchildren Dr. Arianna (Michael) Becker and Veronica (Brandon) Eldridge; great grandchildren Weston and Sofia Becker and Tyson and Gwendolyn Eldridge.
Dr. Earl Grimm graduated from OSU College of Veterinary Medicine in 1955, worked at a small animal hospital in Chicago for 4 years, and then opened Oakland Park Animal Hospital in northeast Columbus which he operated for 60 years.
Earl received the Distinguished Service Award from the Ohio Animal Foundation, was Fifth District Representative to the OVMA, Secretary and President of Columbus Academy of Veterinary Medicine, President of Columbus Veterinary Emergency Service where he served for 17 years and during the construction of the emergency hospital building, President of Columbus North East Optimist Club, Optimist of the Year, Secretary and President of OSU Veterinary Medicine Alumni Society, OSU Alumni Award, Board of Directors of the Capital Area Humane Society, Member at Large of the CAHS Executive Committee, Chairman, Secretary and Veterinary Staff at CAHS, Aquatic Animal Health Committee for The Ohio Department of Agriculture and Advisor for animal care for Big Walnut Middle School Science Fair. Dr. Grimm was Co-Chairman for teaching special needs boys to swim and was Chairman of the Bike Safety Contests and Pass, Shoot and Dribble contests through the NE Optimist Club.
Earl enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing guitar and singing. Earl and Lois enjoyed watching their sons play live music and traveling with family and friends.
Earl had an infectious sense of humor and was loved by all.
