Duane C. Tinkler, TSgt. U.S.A.F. Retired, age 80, of Thornville, Ohio passed away Saturday, April 16, 2011. He was born October 19, 1930 in Herkimer, NY to the late John and Ruth (Ottman) Tinkler. Following Duane’s service to his country, he worked as an examiner for the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services. He enjoyed traveling, was a collector of old books, a car racing fan, and enjoyed fishing and bowling. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted caregiver of his sister-in-law, Marilyn and his wife, Arlene, during her battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Arlene (Ross) Tinkler and a sister, Bonnie Tinkler. He is survived by a daughter, Beverly Timmons of Keller, TX; grandchildren, Thomas Duane and Mitchell Taylor Timmons; brother, Jack (Judy) Tinkler; sisters, Joan (Ron) Schorer and Diana (Sonny) Briggs; several nieces and nephews; and a host of cherished friends.
