Clarence J. Williams, age 79, of Columbus, Ohio passed away peacefully on February 16, 2012, surrounded by his children, after a long battle with cancer. Clarence was born November 25, 1932 in Point Pleasant, West Virginia to the late Clarence Williams, Sr. and Clara Van Hoose. He graduated from Huntington High School and then came to Columbus, where he enlisted in the United States Air Force. Clarence retired from General Electric. He enjoyed taking road trips on his motorcycle, fishing and listening to sports radio…especially the Buckeyes. He was the proud father of three children, Jim (Melody) Williams, Carolyn (Chuck) Friece and Joe (Debbie) Williams; loving grandpa to Shannon Williams, Josh (Nikki) Higgins, Bethany Mills, Melissa Higgins, Chase Friece, Cody Friece, Joey Marcum, Matthew Marcum David (Tina) Williams, Taylor Williams and Trevor Newton; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Cathy (Bill) Adams and Beverly (Jim) Roberts; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorial Services will be held at 11am Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Schoedinger North Chapel, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus, OH 43229.
