Charles E. “Tim” Coleman, age 56, passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2010. He was born in Shelby, Ohio, on December 28, 1953, and graduated from Shelby High School in 1972. After earning a Bachelor’s Degree in education from The Ohio State University in 1977, Tim worked as a teacher and vocational instructor, most recently for the Franklin County Board of MRDD. He was based at the Northeast School in Gahanna, and though he retired after 30 years in June of 2009, he never truly left his coworkers. Tim is survived by his wife and best friend of 27 years, Karen; mother, Gertrude O. (Miller) Coleman; sister, Sara (Mike) Abbott; mother-in-law, Martha L. Call; brothers- and sister-in-law, Craig (Judy) Call, Alice (Larry) Jones, and Eric (Mary) Call; special great uncle and aunt, Harold and Ruth Ruff; and nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other extended family members and great friends. He will also be missed by his loyal companion, Frosty. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles E. Coleman; and father-in-law, Robert D. Call. Tim showed much strength and courage during his 5-year battle against cancer. He lived life to the fullest and enjoyed the simple pleasures. Tim is sadly missed by all who know and love him. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, December 3, at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna. A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home where family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Rev. David Trout officiating.
