Betty Jane Rector

Betty Jane Rector, age 92, of Columbus, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2018. She was born November 9, 1925 to the late Jim and Eva (Madgerosi) Baldassaro. Also preceded in death by her loving husband, Roger Rector; sisters, Frances Paul, Julia Gordon, Mary Robinson; and brother, Michael Sandor. Betty loved bowling and could often be found bowling at Fiesta Lanes in Upper Arlington. She was an avid card player and would have some pretty competitive games of poker with her sisters and friends. Her love for poker took on a new level when the Hollywood Casino opened in Columbus. Traveling changed for her when her late husband Roger and son Jim bought an old Greyhound bus and converted it into a custom coach. Having this new vacation home on wheels led to her and Roger traveling across the USA and everywhere in between. In her later years she enjoyed sitting outside on the patio at her place. Betty will be deeply missed by her sons, Larry Rector, Jim (Paulette) Rector and Thomas (Lois) Rector; grandchildren, Richel Maier, Cory (Sarah) Loftin, Asa (Mary) Loftin, Jon Rector, Danny Rector, Mike Rector, and Tim Rector; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Rosie (Daniel) Anderson; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 6pm on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43220, where family will receive friends 1 hour prior.
