Betty Jane (B.J.) Wiles Wagner

Betty Jane (B.J.) Wiles Wagner 88, of Upper Arlington, went to the embrace of her heavenly father on Tuesday, January 15, 2013. Born September 27, 1924, “B.J.” was a Graduate of the Wellington Ohio High School Class of 1942, and The Ohio State University College of Nursing , 1947. She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. F.C. Wiles, her brother Harold A. Wiles, and her husband of 62 years, Dr. Robert W. Wagner. B.J. is survived by her two sons Jonathan R. (Laurie) Wagner; Jeffrey A. (Lori) Wagner, and daughter Jennifer J. (Trey) Setterlin all of Columbus, seven grandchildren: Lindsey, Kathryn and Jonathan Wagner; Samantha and Chelsea Setterlin; Jessica and Christopher Wagner. Member of the Lane Avenue Baptist Church, Member O.S.U. Women’s Club, Arts Group, and Antique Group; Group S of the O.S.U. Mother’s Club, American Association of University Women; Columbus Maennerchor, Columbus Museum of Art and Ohio Historical Society. Life Member, O.S.U. Hospital Woman’s Service Board; Life Member, O.S.U. College of Nursing Alumni Association; Life Member Southern Lorain County Historical Society. B.J. was fond of saying “I never met a stranger”. She travelled extensively including adventures to over 30 countries, and was proud of both her Ohio State University family heritage, and her years of service as a registered nurse. Most of all, she enjoyed many happy summers with her devoted family on Lake Maranacook, Maine.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race,

I have kept the faith.

Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness…”

Family will receive friends at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Friday, January 18, 2013. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at The Crossing Community Church @ Tree of Life Ministry Center, 5000 Arlington Center Blvd, Upper Arlington. Pastor Wayne Nicholson officiating. Interment at Green Lawn Cemetery.
