Beth Ann Allen

A homegoing service for Beth Ann Allen, age 58, of Newark, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, at the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 383 Washington Street, Newark, with Rev. Dr. Michael A. Noble officiating. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Beth Ann was born November 30, 1954 in Newark, Ohio to the late Guy S., Sr., and Susan Elizabeth (Williams) Brown. She passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center.

Beth Ann was formerly employed with Holophane in Utica. She was a member of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. Beth Ann enjoyed working out, spending time spoiling her grandchildren, taking walks at Dawes Arboretum and being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Jay W. Allen, Jr.; son, Robert W. Allen of Newark; five grandchildren, Devin, Alliyah, Cevin, Heavenly and Princessa; great-grandson, Isaac; brother, John (Patricia) Brown of Newark; sisters, Geraldine (Robert) Byes of Newark, Clara (Stuckey) Pressie of Atlanta, Georgia, Brenda (Fred) Toone of Columbus and Marie Allen of Newark; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins; God Children, Sharon, Michael and Maria Holmes; and special friends, Vel Matthews, Becky Scott, Rose Allen and Tootz.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Guy S. Brown, Jr.; and a sister, Mary Richardson.
