Barbara Ann Puppel, 78, of Worthington, Ohio, passed peacefully on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, from dementia brought on by a severe stroke she suffered in June of 2019. She had made a remarkable recovery from that day, which created additional great family memories, but as is so common with this disease, the disease eventually progresses. The family wants to thank the great care Barbara received from Kemper House Worthington and Capital City Hospice as this progression occurred.
Barbara was born July 24, 1943, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late William and Virginia Bretz. She was a devoted and loving wife, mom, and grandmother. Barbara always had a kind word, positive attitude, and smile to share with those around her. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her brother, David Bretz; mother-in-law, Martha Puppel; and father-in-law, Allen Puppel. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Dennis D. Puppel; son Darin (Amy) Puppel; daughter Debbie (Kenneth) Martin; brothers, Bob and Jerry Bretz; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Per Barbara's wishes, there will only be a viewing for immediate family on Friday November 26. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Kenney Family Foundation at Kemper House (https://kemperhouseworthington.com/virtues-mission/kenney-family-foundation/) may be considered.
Arrangements entrusted to SCHOEDINGER MIDTOWN.
