Amy Marie Blake was born to the late Walter and Bertha (Tilton) Blake of Caldwell, OH September 13, 1918. The entire original Blake family preceded her in death, brother Charles and Garnet Blake, brother Robert and Lois Blake, sister Kathryn and John Dilley, sister Betty and Reid Hayhow, plus a very special Aunt Nellie Tilton. She is survived by daughter JoAnne and William Hobensack, grandson Curtis Hobensack, Julie Hobensack Halla, granddaughter Cheryl Hartley, great granddaughter Jennifer and Ryan Brown, great grandson Brian Hartley, great great granddaughters Maria and Samantha Brown, many nieces and nephews and families. Amy graduated from Caldwell High School, member of Caldwell United Methodist Church and Epworth League. She moved to Columbus and became a member of Bexley United Methodist Church. Daughter JoAnne, grandson Curtis and granddaughter Cheryl were married in that church and other children baptized there. Amy had a long but interesting career involving changes as she advanced in the business world. Her positions included: American Education Press, Secy. to the Consulting Engineer for the State of Ohio, U.S. Navy Bureau of Aeronautics, J.S. Army Mobility Command Center in St. Louis, Mo. A serious kidney surgery forced her into a three year recoup period. She returned to work as Manager of Lincoln Village North- 618 apartments. Secy. and Assistant Bookkeeper for Virginia Corporation during construction and rent-up of 1342 apartments, manager of Easthaven and Glenbrook- 300 apartments, manager of Northtowne Apartments- 310 apartments and retired as manager, Winchester Gardens-210 apartments. She had passed the State Exam and was Real Estate Agent for the Girard Company. Retirement turned into charity work. She was a member of Moose Lodge #1245, past president of Chapter 353 AARP and Government Agent of food distribution for zips 43227 and 43232. She has spent the last year in the Woodlands Assistant Living where she made many friends and amazed everyone. She will be missed by everyone who knew her. Family will receive friends Sunday from 3-6 PM at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. where a funeral service will be held Monday at 10:30 AM with Chaplain Mike Peebles of Senior Independence Hospice officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
