Victor Marshall Armstrong, 79, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Columbus Regional Hospital after a long illness. Victor was born October 29, 1944 in Fowler, California. He was the son of Claude Marshall and Cona L. Armstrong.
Victor served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1966. He later began working for Cummins where he worked for 31 years before retiring.
Victor was an avid NASCAR fan. He enjoyed building model kits as well as birdwatching. Most of all, he loved his home, his family, and his dog, Duke.
Victor is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Patricia E. Armstrong; son, Bradley M. Armstrong; brother, Bruce (Cheryl) Armstrong; sister, Crystal D. Bone; sister in law, Kelly Kelly; brother-in-law, Dell (Debbie) Kelly; sister-in-law, Becky (Shannon) Richardson; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Jeffrey M. Armstrong; sister, Beva G. Robbins; and brothers-in-law, Roy Kelly, Glenn Kelly, Jim Robbins, and Bill Bone.
To honor Victor’s life, friends and family may gather for visitation on Friday, June 7 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Myers-Reed Chapel. A graveside service will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Adams officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Bartholomew County Honor Guard.
Memorial donations in Victor’s name may be made to the Bartholomew County Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
