Robert Dennis Jones

Robert Dennis Jones, 75, of Columbus died 7:30 a.m. Friday, September 2, 2016, at Keepsake Village of Columbus. Mr. Jones was born in Indianapolis Feb. 3, 1941 the son of Robert and Josephine Luckett Jones. He married JoAnn DuLong at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church October 28, 1967. He was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Indianapolis and served in the US Army for 4 years. He worked 33 years for Cummins Engine Company, retiring in 1996. He was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and Diesel Workers Union. He loved golf, NASCAR, college basketball, especially Kentucky. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife JoAnn Jones of Columbus; daughter, Katrina (Bob) Taylor of Nashville, IN; brother, Norman Jones of Seymour; grandchildren, Ashley Taylor of Columbus and Alex Taylor of Nashville. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronnie Jones; infant daughter, Ann Marie Jones. Mass of Christian Burial will be Noon Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church with Father Andy Syberg officiating. Calling will be from 10:00 a.m. to service time at the church. Burial with military honors by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard in Garland Brook Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.myers-reed.com.
