Deborah Joann "Debbie" Shelton

Debbie was a homemaker and loved to do housework and give of herself to others. She enjoyed country music and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Among Debbie’s survivors are her parents, Walter Lee and Jessie Joan Brown Mings of Columbus; a daughter, Tiffany (Joe Adkins) Shelton of Brownstown; a son, Jason (Ashley Dillman) Shelton of North Vernon; her former husband, Warren Shelton of Brownstown; grandchildren, Eli and Natalie Adkins, Jeremiah Shelton, Hailey and Elexus Kennedy; and brothers, Dennis, Darrell and Anthony Mings, all of Columbus.

Debbie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Laura and Tyler Mings and Walter Ray and Hazel May Coy Brown.

Debbie’s funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street, Columbus, with the Rev. Ron Cox officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the service Monday. Burial will be at Bethel Baptist Cemetery.
