William R. Kibby, 74, of Fortson, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2020. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, Georgia with Reverend Brad Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Bill was born in Cleveland, Ohio on January 14, 1946 to the late Jack Willard Kibby and Eileen Rieth Kibby. Bill was an active member of Hunter Road Baptist Church in Cataula, Georgia. He loved spending time with family and friends around the grill enjoying good food, good drinks and even better company. He was a lifelong Auburn fan and enjoyed tailgating with friends. Traveling was another passion, his trips to Hawaii and Australia topped the list. Bill also loved being a Sales Rep. for Milliken where he served 36 years and built many lifelong friendships with his customers. Bill was known for being a kind and gentle soul whose quick wit could always get those around him laughing. His light on earth will be missed but is shining even brighter in Heaven.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Kibby, and a sister, Jackie Fuller.
Mr. Kibby is survived by his sons, Bill R. Kibby, Jr. of Fortson, Georgia and Jim W. Kibby of Lagrange, Georgia; step sons, Brandon Bryant (Rhonda) of Birmingham, Alabama and Clayton Bryant (Wendy) of Pine Mountain, Georgia; a sister, Kathy Jackson (Mike) of Columbus, Georgia; two grandchildren, Grace Kibby and Justin Kibby; step grandchildren, Bailee Bryant, Brooklyn Bryant, Jared Bryant, Kaylee Bryant, Aiden Bryant and Kaden Bishop; and two great-grandchildren, Kellen Kibby and Tucker Bowen.
