Ursula was born September 3, 1932 in Coburg, Bavaria, Germany to Elizabeth Matzke Gerandt and Willie Gerandt. She grew up in a very turbulent time in Germany. Along with her parents, she had and older brother (Achim) and a twin sister Eve. As a young woman, Ursula met, fell in-love and soon married a young American Soldier, Jerome May, who was stationed in Germany after WWII. After the War ended, Ursala moved to the United States with her husband, who remained in the Army throughout his career. They had three sons, William, Bob and Charlie. Ursala loved her family dearly, but her twin sister, Eve, and she were inseparable. They both loved shopping together, traveling together, dressing alike, cooking German cuisine and keeping a nice, clean home. She will be remembered as a woman of high German standards, an amazing German chef, having a perfectly clean house and that she adored her family.
Ursula’s husband of 50 years, Jerome K. May; son, William Gerandt May; brother, Achim Gerandt; father, Willie Gerandt; and mother, Elizabeth Matzke Gerandt, preceded her in death. She is survived by son, Robert May; son, Charles May; twin sister, Evelyn Crista Dotlich; seven grandchildren; other relatives and many friends to cherish her memory.
