Steve was born in Harvey, Illinois, on January 3, 1956, to the late Florence and Henry M. Reed, Sr. He grew up in Illinois and later moved to Lake Worth, Florida, before settling in the Columbus, Georgia, area. Steve was a mechanic by trade. He loved classic cars, motorcycles, and all things outdoors. He lived a life full of laughter and was always ready with a good joke or witty comeback in any situation.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Gene Reed, his sister Jodi Naszkiewicz, and mother-in-law Crystal Beals.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Donna Marie Beals Reed; his sons: Troy (Tracy) of Fortson, GA, and Travis (Shannon) of Columbus, GA; his grandchildren: Bryce (Kaleigh) Lane, Gracie Reed, and Cooper Reed; and his great-grandchild, Rawlins Lane. He is also survived by his father-in-law, Clyde R. Beals (Wanda Reynolds), and mother-in-law, Marie Tomlin (Jim); as well as his siblings: his twin brother Carl Reed, Kathleen “Kay” Malec, and Henry “Skip” Reed, Jr. He also leaves behind a large extended family, including many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Steve’s wishes were to keep things simple, and he requested that no formal funeral services be held.
