Arrangements under the direction of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA.Steve Bronislaw Jankiewicz, 67, of Columbus, GA, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016 after a long battle with cancer. He was born to his late parents Walter and Valeria Jankiewicz on June 25, 1949 in Germany. After his family came to the United States, Steve became a social butterfly. He went to work at AFLAC where he excelled in insurance sales. Steve was a life-long member of Holy Family Catholic Church and had a servant’s heart. He loved to help others. Steve was also, a shopaholic who loved a good deal. He could find almost anything you wanted and at a great price. He loved his family and was close with his grandchildren who he spent much of his time with.
Along with his parents, Steve is preceded in death by his brother Ted Jankiewicz and his sister Regina Jankiewicz both of Columbus. Survivors include his daughter Stephanie Jankiewicz, of Columbus; son Shaun (Ashley) Jankiewicz, of Columbus; step daughter Kristine Walls; grandchildren Brandon, Bryce, Ansley, and Mallory Jankiewicz all of Columbus; sister in-law Cynthia Jankiewicz, nieces, nephews, other family members and many, many friends.
The family will welcome guests for visitation Tuesday, August 9, 2016 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm in The St. Elmo Room of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA. A graveside Celebration of Steve’s Life is scheduled for Wednesday, August 10, 2016 1:00 pm at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon RD. Columbus, GA, with Father O’Connel officiating.
