SGT (Ret) Gary William Miller

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 6, 2010 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA. 31907 with Reverend Eric M. Estes officiating. Interment to follow in Parkhill Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be his fellow officers from the Columbus Police Department. The family will receive friends this evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Miller was born in Ft. Benning, GA. on February 17, 1950 to the late William Anderson Miller and Ruby Mae Pitcock Miller. He has lived in Columbus all of his life and was retired from the Columbus Police Department where he served for 34 years. Mr. Miller was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in Vietnam.

Survivors include his wife, Diane Guenther Miller, a son, Brian William Miller and wife, Gwen, a daughter, Melissa Kathryn Miller, brothers, Dwight Miller and wife, Donna and Wayne Miller and wife, Jean, sister, Gail Murrell and husband, Winford, all of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews.
