A visitation for the family and friends of Sandra will be held Sunday, August 13, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary - Columbus, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907. A celebration of Sandra's life will occur Monday, August 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary - Columbus.
Sandra is survived by brother, Earl Howard "Skeeter" Sasser, Jr.; sisters, Earleen Abernathy (Morris), Heather Davis; daughters, Lisa Smith, Allison Lingerfelt (Ed); sons, Andy Lowe (Christie), Kip Lowe (Suzanne); grandchildren, Kyle Klamer, Georgia Lingerfelt, Kaylee Lowe, Paige Lowe, Ella Grace Lowe, Peyton Lowe, Ethan Wells, Leslie Wells; brothers- and sisters- in law, Shirley Miller (Tommy), Ray Lowe (Judy), Tommy Lawson (Gloria), Debra Gill (Ralph), Norman Lowe (Janet), Jimmy Lowe; and many loved nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl Howard Sasser, Sr. and Essie Bernice (Hallman) Sasser; loving husband of 25 years, Bob Lowe; and beloved brother, Jimmy Sasser.
Sandra was born in Cairo, Georgia on February 10, 1940 to Earl Howard Sasser, Sr. and Essie Bernice (Hallman) Sasser. She moved to Columbus in 1948 and graduated from Jordan High School class of 1958. She was voted "Friendliest" in her class.
Sandra had a successful 45-year career in Business Management and Administration. She worked for organizations such as Royal Crown Cola, Columbus College, Columbus Chamber of Commerce, TRW, Wetzel International, Plicon Corp, and others.
Sandra married Bob Lowe in 1979. Together they built a strong and loving family for Lisa, Allison, Andy, and Kip. They remained married for 25 years until Bob passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2004.
Sandra was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved music, planting flowers, eating crab legs and boiled peanuts, making jewelry, traveling with family and friends, and singing in the Morningside Baptist Church choir. Sandra was a devoted Christian and will be remembered for her strength, humor, kindness, and generosity.
