Robert Louis McMillan Jr.

Robert L. “Mac” McMillan Jr., age 78, of Columbus, GA passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023 at Columbus Hospice House. He was born February 18, 1945 in Columbus, GA, son of the late Robert Louis and Betty Ruth (McGuffey) McMillan.

After many years of dedicated service Robert “Mac” McMillan retired from the Columbus Department of Fire & EMS. He enjoyed watching Nascar on Sundays and going fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Judith (Murdock) McMillan; his children, Robert Kevin McMillan, Robin Elaine McMillan (Michael Dorminey); his grandchildren, Alexis Renee Chavez, Madison Elaine Chavez and Emma Grace Dorminey; his siblings, Terrell McMillan, Melinda Johnson, Donna Fullerton, Tina Trant, Tracy McMillan, Jon McMillan and Beverly Stapleton. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his siblings, Sybil Schaaf, Susie McMillan, Freddie McMillan, Jeff McMillan and Barry McMillan.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Edgewood Hall, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907 on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 11:00AM with Honors rendered by the Columbus Fire Department. Bill Berry will be officiating service. Family will visit with friends one hour prior. Burial will follow chapel service at Parkhill Cemetery.
