Peggy Hall Friend was born on November 14, 1936 in Macon, Georgia to the late Dorothy Caves Hall and Augustus Hall. She was married to the late Michael Wesley Friend. Peggy was a military wife; her husband’s military career had the family stationed at military bases around the world and in the United States. Peggy and her family settled in the Columbus area after her husband’s retirement. Together they enjoyed dancing, going to the Senior Center every weekend to dance the night away.
She was Christian by faith and was a member of Evangel Church of Columbus. Peggy enjoyed crossword and search word puzzles, crocheting, fishing and she was an avid reader. She loved her family and spending time with them. Peggy will be greatly missed by all who knew and especially loved her.
Peggy is survived by her two sons, Michael K. Friend (Julie) and William A. "Andy" Friend (Betty) of Columbus; a sister Clara Franklin (Brandon, MS) and her three Grandchildren, Merritt, Mason, and Stephanie, also of Columbus.
Peggy also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and other family to cherish her memory.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Michael Wesley Friend, her Mother, Father, two sisters and two brothers.
