Nelson "Buddy" Carl Yoder, age 86, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024. A visitation for family and friends for Buddy will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:15 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary - Columbus, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907. Following the visitation the graveside service, begin at 3:30 PM at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907.
Buddy was born in Reading Pennsylvania, on August 31, 1937; the son of John Martin Yoder and Mary Nein Yoder. He came to Georgia and found his “peach,” he married the love of his life Dorothy Harris; they were married for 51 years. Buddy worked for Alexander Contracting for 44 years. He enjoyed gardening, building birdhouses, and walking his dog, “Lady Bug.” He loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, John Martin Yoder and Mary Rebecca Yoder; and his nine siblings.
Survivors include: his wife, Dorothy Yoder, his daughter, Kristi (Grayson) McDaniel; his grandchildren, Mary (Ben) Youngblood, Candace (Tyler) McDaniel, William Roller; great grandchildren, Reagan McDaniel, Riley McDaniel, Jillian Youngblood; his brother, Don Yoder; sister, Mildred Neetz (Yoder); and many nieces and nephews that will cherish his memory.
