Mildred was born in Ocala, Florida in October 9, 1948; the daughter of Cherry Daniel Green and Mildred Aleene Walker Greene. She was raised on Florida and graduated from Taylor County High School in Perry, FL. Mildred married the man of her dreams on February 14, 1987 in Helen, GA. She was a flight attendant for 23 years with Eastern Airlines until they ceased business in January 1991.
Mildred was a loving and caring lady who lived her life in the moment and took time to cherish the little nuances that others often overlook. She was beset with Rheumatoid Arthritis; she pushed past the pain and greeted the world with a smile. Mildred had a quick wit, a great sense of humor, and always tried to focus on what she could do, rather than what she couldn’t. She enjoyed traveling around the world with friends and family. However, the trips she seemed to love equally or more was when she would go camping with George in their little popup trailer. George was often greeted with a hug, a kiss, and sandwich, not wasting any time to go camping. Mildred loved her Savior, and by her example of trying to live a Christ like life, was instrumental in helping others toward a saving knowledge. Through her years, she was a member of the Ramah Baptist Church, East Newnan Baptist Church, and she joined Cornerstone Baptist Church when she moved to the area. Mildred was one of a trio of volunteers that sang and played piano for nursing homes in Newnan. Mildred loved her family and cherished the opportunity to be a loving wife to George.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cherry Daniel Green and Mildred Aleene Walker Green; and her brother, Danny Green.
Mildred is survived by her husband of 34 years, George Menzies.
