Michele M. Ledford, 51, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on June 6, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital. A celebration of her life will be held at 12:00PM on Friday, June 10, 2022 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary on Macon Road in Columbus, Georgia with Rev. Ricky Ward officiating. A graveside service will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Lee Dawson, Neal Dawson, Jay Adams, Sam Adams, Spud Warr III, and Colt McLendon.
Michele was born June 9, 1970 in Phenix City, Alabama. She was the youngest of three children to Roy D. McLendon, Sr. and Sandra Craft McLendon. Michele grew up attending Pine Grove Baptist Church. She gave her life to Jesus at an early age. She enjoyed the music program, playing the piano, organ and singing in the youth choir. Later in life she became a member of Cascade Hills Church. Michele graduated from Central High School in Phenix City, Alabama. She began her college education at CVCC with a Vocal Music Scholarship and later she graduated with a degree in Computer Science. She began her career with Total System Services (TSYS) at age 19. There, she was accepted into the first class in the Georgia Quickstart Program. After a few years of working as a programmer, she moved to the Project Management Team. She loved her work and her work family, she left TSYS after 20 years of service.
Michele enjoyed spending time with family and friends, shopping and going out to eat. She also enjoyed hosting her annual ornament party at Christmas since 2003.
Michele is preceded in death by the two great loves of her life, Bobby E. Ledford and their son and only child, Joshua Gage Ledford. Both of her parents and grandparents.
Those left to cherish her memories are her brother, Pete McLendon (Kelli); sister, Jeanette Warr (Spud); nieces, Ashley Smith (Matt), Sandy McLendon and Katie Warr; nephews, Spud Warr (Crystal) and Colt McLendon; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
