Michael Lee Reed Sr., 67, of Columbus, GA died Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at his home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday July 17, 2010 in the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31917 with Dr. Kevin Calhoun and Reverend Chris Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Reed was born December 22, 1942 in Langdale, AL son of the late Harvey Reed and Viree Webb Reed. He was Human Resource Manager for the Columbus Water Works with 47 years of faithful service and a faithful member of Wynnbrook Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Deborah Reed of Columbus, his sons, Mike Reed Jr. and his wife, Jennifer of Ellerslie, GA, Steve Reed and his wife Krissy of Braselton, GA, a brother, Randal Reed of Conyers, GA, a sister, Beth Willoughby, of Fortson, GA, 4 Grandchildren, Hannah Reed, Katie Reed, Rachel Reed and Ryan Reed.
