Michael was born on June 16, 1955, in Watertown, Massachusetts to Katherine and John McGrath. He spent his early years studying at Mississippi State University and retired from AFLAC in 2018. He was a loyal fan of Big 4 Celtics, Red Sox, Braves, and Patriots and belonged to a band, “Thyme”, as well as being an avid musician playing the guitar.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John L. McGrath and Katherine McGrath; his sister, Leah McGrath Miller; and his brother, John P. McGrath. He is survived by his siblings, Diane Mangano of McKinney, Texas, Christopher McGrath of Woodbridge, Virginia, and Connie Stringfellow of Columbus, Georgia; three nieces; four nephews; thirteen grand nieces and nephews; and one great grandniece.
