Marjorie Amelia McCosh Buchanan passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at the age of 76. She was born on June 6, 1947 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Tom and Lois McCosh. Marjorie was married to the late Dr. Jack Palmer Buchanan DMD. She worked at the Department of Family Services, First Baptist Church of Columbus, and her husband’s dental office.
Throughout her life, her love for the Lord, and faith was a true testament. She expressed this love with her talents of singing, playing the piano and poetry. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Columbus.
Marjorie is survived by her two sons: Bart Weathers Buchanan and William Todd Buchanan; her siblings: Benjamin (Annelle) McCosh of Salem, Alabama, Louis (Julia) McCosh of Hamilton, Georgia, James (Cathy) McCosh of Gastonia, North Carolina, and Beatrice (Bob) Cole of Savannah, Georgia; her sister-in-law Leslie (Joseph) Mitchell of Haymarket, Virginia; and her many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023 at 2:00 PM in Parkhill Cemetery with Dr. Jimmy Elder officiating. Family will visit with friends after the service at graveside. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to First Baptist Church Music Fiend, P.O. Box 828, Columbus, GA 31902; Kindred Hospice or a charity of your choice.
