Linda was born on March 3, 1954 in Colfax, Illinois to Geneva Minor Harris and Wallace W. Harris. She attended Eastway Middle School, Kendrick High School and then Columbus Tech. Linda worked in retail in the Columbus area, working in many chains to include Shoe City, Diana Shop, Service Merchandise, K-Mart, Hobby Lobby, Dollar Tree, American Greetings, and Catherine’s.
She was Christian by faith, and she was a child of God, loving Jesus with her whole heart. Her love for her family ran deep. Linda enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Spoiling her grandchildren was her top priority, loving every minute and every second of it. Not only did Linda spoil her own, she would buy all the neighborhood children candy, and they came to her house daily for candy. Linda loved to travel and go to the beach with her family. She also loved the University of Georgia football team.
Linda loved to shop for angels, never passing up one that she did not have in her collection. Linda loved to sing, and she had the voice of an angel. Her favorite singer was Patsy Cline. Linda was a fighter, she fought with all her might to stay with her family here on earth. She is now their heavenly angel. Her favorite phrase was “God don’t like ugly.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, Geneva and Wallace W. Harris; brothers, Terry Harris and Ralph Harris; and sister, Tonya Hackett.
She leaves her legacy to be cherished by her sons, Daniel (Rene) Olds and Derrick Olds, both of Columbus, GA; her brothers, Larry (Dawn) Harris of Warm Springs, GA and Michael Harris of Columbus, GA; her grandchildren, Kayla, Chloe, Hunter and soon to be fourth grandchild, Ethan.
