Larry Sawyer

Larry Sawyer, age 73, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021. A visitation of family and friends will be held Friday, February 5, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 1:55 PM in Edgewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907; funeral services will follow and begin at 2:00 PM.

Larry was born on August 21, 1947, in Dothan, Alabama; the son of Estelle Cochran Sawyer and Buford Sawyer. Larry married Margaret Spurlock, they were married for 30 years. Larry worked in several Mills here in Columbus before his retirement.

Larry is preceded in death by: his wife, Margaret; his parents, Buford and Estelle Sawyer; sister, Betty Jo Anderson; and Brother, Jimmy Sawyer.

Survivors include: his children, Amy Loftin, Mark Sawyer, Joseph Sawyer, Lisa Sawyer, James Sawyer; his grandchildren, Jade Smith, Corey Sawyer, Matt Sawyer, Paige Sawyer, James Strickland Jr., Kristen Sawyer, Aaron Sawyer, Chelsie Sawyer; great grandchildren, Baylee, Edison, Beckham, Gracelyn, girlfriend, Gwen Eaton; siblings, Robin Shirley, Shirley Mann; several nieces, nephews, and friends of the family that will cherish his memory.
