Julia Day Rigsby

Long-time Midland resident, Julia Day Rigsby, 84, passed away on Wednesday night, November 28, 2012 at Columbus Hospice House, after a short illness. Graveside services will be held at Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus on Monday, December 3, 2012 at 1:00 PM with Chaplain Dan McMinn officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, December 2, 2012 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM.

Born Aug 30, 1928, Mrs. Rigsby was the last surviving child of the late Yancy Arthur Day and Alva Mildred Page Day. She was preceded in death by her brother Allen Arthur Day; three sisters, Ruth Day Yancey, Katherine Day Holcomb, and Betty Jeanette Day Harmon.

Mrs. Rigsby will be interred beside her husband of 60 years, Johnny D. Rigsby, who passed away in April of 2007.

She is survived by her two daughters, Angela Rigsby Martinez, husband John, and daughter Anne of Atlanta, GA and Deborah Rigsby Lopez, husband Perry, and son Brian of Columbus, GA; cousin and friend, Frances Travis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial contributions to Columbus Hospice, 7020 Moon Rd, Columbus, Ga 31909.
