Jean Parks a loving wife, sister, aunt and friend went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, May 24, 2021 at the age of 65. She was born in Valdosta, Georgia to the late Clara Thelma Holt Lane and Abe Ralph Lane.
Jean met the love of her life, Earnest Parks, over 33 years ago and they have been happily married for over 32 years. Jean worked at Valdosta State University for over 20 years assisting students and faculty. She and Earnest moved to Columbus to be close to family. Jean enjoyed going to the mountains, especially Cherokee North Carolina where she felt at home. She loved spending time with her family and her fur baby, Izzy. Jean will be greatly missed by all who knew and especially loved her.
Her parents, Clara and Abe Lane and her brothers, James Lane and Tony Lane, precede her in death. Jean leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her loving husband of 32 years, Earnest Parks; her sisters, Mary Ball and Jerrie (Jarrett) Rowland; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 1:00 PM in Parkhill Cemetery at Chapel of Pines Mausoleum with Reverend Mike Reeves officiating. Family will visit with friends at Chapel of Pines Mausoleum beginning at 12:00 noon until time of the service.
