James Wade Gibson, 66, of Columbus, GA, passed away suddenly April 6, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital. He was born in Columbus, September 11, 1948 to the late Jack and Sally Gibson. He was a devoted, loving, caring husband, daddy and Paw Paw. He took great pride in caring for his wife, family and friends. He was an avid Alabama Football fan and could be found in front of the TV every time The Tide was playing. Wade was the Branch Manager for Motion Industries in Columbus, and was an Army Veteran. His loss has left a huge whole in our family as he was a hero to each and every one of us.
The family will receive guests for visitation, Thursday April 9, 2015 2:00-3:00pm in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA, followed by a Celebration of Wade’s Life at 3:00 pm, in Edgewood Hall, with Doctor Bill Pervis officiating.
Wade is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Linda Shehane Gibson; son, Jason Gibson of Waverly Hall, GA; daughter, Cothee (Chad) Stonebraker of Waverly Hall, GA; his six grandchildren, Tristan Wade, Halee, Peyton, Ashley, Rett Wade and Carsten Wade; sisters, Lynn (Tim) Koceja of Midland, GA, Carol (Bobby) Ellis of Smiths Station, AL and brother Wayne Gibson of Hattchachubee, AL; Uncle Billy Gibson of Columbus, GA; Aunt Martha Jean (Dewey) Alford of Cataula, GA, along with many nieces and nephews and other family members.
