A visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, August 30, 2021, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at 11:00 am at Main Post Cemetery, Ft. Benning, Georgia, with Priest Eddie Layfield officiating. Serving as pallbearers are her grandchildren; Joshua Horton, Brian Horton, Marc Horton, Blake Kettner, Rebecca Paull and Stephanie Mancino.
Inge was born March 3, 1934, in Erlangen, Germany. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Vassar E. Horton. After marrying Vassar, she spent almost 25 years as an Army wife and loved the journeys that took the family throughout the United States. After retiring from the Army, the family moved to Columbus, GA where she had a successful 20 year career as a licensed insurance agent.
Inge was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a long-time member of the New Apostolic Church in Columbus.
Inge is survived by her son Steve Horton; of Harris County, GA, daughter; Joy Humphries of Suwanee, GA, sisters; Brigitte Collins of Columbus, GA., Renate Ertel of Germany and brother Kurt (Gitta) Baum of Germany, grandchildren; Joshua Horton (Rachel) Perry, GA, Brian Horton (Maggi) Columbus, GA, Marc Horton (Meghan) Harris County, GA, Rebecca Paull (Joe) Columbus, GA, Blake Kettner (Michelle) Boynton Beach, FL, Stephanie Mancino (Shawn) West Palm Beach, FL, great grandchildren; Carter and Davis Horton, Vivvi , Pierce and Dotti Horton, Harper and Cecelia Horton, Brayden and Aria Kettner, Josie, Neena and Phoebe Paull, Ella and Logan Mancino and many nieces, nephews and friends.

For those attending the Graveside services there will be a funeral procession to Main Post Cemetery. Please arrive by 9:30 am at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary to join the procession.
