Hubert Jeff Chris Burson Jr., 80, of Morrow, Georgia passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024. He was born in Columbus, Georgia on May 28, 1943 to Hubert Jefferson Burson, Sr. and Verna Juanita Hinton Burson.
Mr. Burson faithfully served his country with the United States Air Force. Mr. Burson retired from the Air Force after 27 years. He was stationed at numerous locations throughout the United States and several foreign countries. During his enlistment, Mr. Burson served during the Vietnam War and retired in 1988 as a Senior Master Sargent with numerous decorations, medals, badges, citations and campaign ribbons. His service did not end with serving his country. Mr. Burson also served his community through the Masonic, Scottish Rite, and Shriners, in which he was very proud of his service to his fellow man and community.
Upon his retirement he enjoyed spending time traveling in the motorhome with his beloved wife, Marilyn. Mr. Burson enjoyed the great outdoors not only traveling in his motorhome, but also camping, boating, fishing, and a great round of golf. His canine companions, Dusty and Michaela were very dear to him. He loved his family and spending time with them was a great joy, his loving memory will be cherished by those who loved him dearly.
Mr. Burson is proceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Ann Burson and parents. He leaves his loving memory to be cherished by his daughter, Juanita “Nita” Burson and a host of other family members and friends.
A visitation for family and friends be held Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be at 11:00 AM with Reverend Mike Reeves officiating. A committal service with military honors will follow in Parkhill Cemetery.
