Helen Bass

Helen Bass, age 85, resident of Columbus, died on Friday, October 21, 2011 at Columbus Hospice House. Memorial Mass will be at St. Anne Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, 2 pm with Father Mariusz Fuks officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus. Rosary will be said at the funeral home on Monday, October 24, 2011, 6 p.m. with the family receiving friends afterwards until 8 p.m. Mrs. Bass, daughter of the late Russell A. Thompson and Kathleen Moriarty Thompson, was born October 24, 1925 in Fargo, ND. She was a homemaker and member of St. Anne Catholic Church. Mrs. Bass was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Watson Bass. She is survived by one daughter, Kathy Pauwels and her husband Edward of Moline, IL; three sons, Thomas Watson Bass, Jr. and his wife Gloria of Lilburn, GA, Randy Bass and his wife Anna of Lilburn, GA, and David Bass and his wife Debbie of Cataula, GA; three sisters, Rita Gravalin of Fargo, ND, Peggy Bassitt of Fargo, ND, and Bev LaPash and her husband Doug of Morehead, MN; six grandchildren, Caroline, Jenna, Michelle, Debbie, Crystal, and Trey; six great-grandchildren, Andrew, Ashley, Chase, Courtney, Davis, and Anna; other relatives and friends; and her dog, Lady.
