Columbus, Georgia- Hazel Elaine Hall Brennan Phd, age 73, resident of Columbus, died on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at Midtown Medical Center. Memorial service is scheduled in the Mill Room of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Road Columbus, Wednesday, May 28, 2014, 11:00 a.m.
Dr. Brennan, daughter of the late Clyde Earl Hall and Eleanor Marie Heath of Dothan Al., was born February 11, 1941 in Columbus, Georgia. She studied and graduated from Huntingdon College in New York, received her Master's Degree at the University of Iowa, and also received her Doctorates Degree at the University of Missouri. Dr. Brennan dedicated 35 years in the University System of Georgia, 30 of those years as a professor at Columbus State University. Dr. Brennan Retired as Chairman of the Theater Department in 2003 as Professor Emerta.
She is survived by her husband of 13 years, John Joseph Brennan; adopted mother, Gwen Hitzman; daughters, Suzanne Brennan Holt, Kerry Brennan, Kate Brennan Richeson and husband Greg; adopted son, James Clay Robinson Jr.; grandchildren, Andrew Brennan and wife Sarah, Madeline Holt, Aidan Brennan, Liam Richeson, Charlotte Richeson; great grandchild, Jaxon Brennan; sister, Susan Heath; and half-sister, Marilynn Cline.
