.Gloria “Toots” Speak McGlaun, age 86, resident of Cusseta GA, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services are scheduled in the Mill Room of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Road Columbus, GA 31907, Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 2:00pm with Pastor Isiah Lewis officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 21, 2016 in the Mill Room from 5:00-7:00pm. Burial will follow the service at Parkhill Cemetery.
Mrs. McGlaun, daughter of the late Clarence Franklin Speak and Lillian Trail, was born November 24, 1929 in Frederick, Maryland.
She was a beloved daughter, mother, sister, and grandmother; she took great care of her family, cherished them dearly, and was impactful in raising many children within the family. Mrs. McGlaun worked for the Fort Benning, GA Post Exchange for many years and retired in 1987.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Jane McGlaun and granddaughter, Amy Escribano; son, Pete McGlaun; sister, Patsy Huntzberry; brothers, Clarence Speak Jr., Donald Speak, Thomas Speak and Wayne Speak.
Mrs. McGlaun is survived by her son, Charles McGlaun of Phoenix, AZ; daughters, Debbie Hart of Cusseta, GA, Marsha McGlaun of St. Pete, FL; brothers, Delmar Speak of Frederick, MD, Robert Speak of St. Thomas, PA; grandchildren, Stacy, Monica, Kristy, Melissa, Brandy, Marcy, Hardee; great grandchildren, Devin, Sharon, Louis, Tori, Erykah, Christopher, Mikayla, Amy, Malachi, Trenton; and great great grandson, Christian.
