Benjamin Franklin “Frank” Reames, Jr., age 94, of Abbeville, Alabama passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023. A Celebration of Frank's life will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia in the Chapel of Pines.
Frank attended Columbus High School and Georgia Institute of Technology. He married the love of his life, Katie Jones Reames on December 11, 1950 at Rosehill Baptist Church. Frank was a member of First Baptist Church of Columbus and had been a member of the Exchange Club of Columbus and he was Mason in Columbus. Frank was self-employed and operated B.F. Reames Automotive for over 72 years. Frank valued education and in living through the depression, he knew the value of a dollar. He ensured he taught these values and principles to his family. Frank knew the importance of hard work and working smart, he was honest, loyal, and he had the highest integrity. He also knew the importance of balancing work and spending time with his family and friends, which he cherished. Frank loved to travel by boat and overseas, he was a charter member of the Columbus Cruising Club, he made numerous trips by boat from Columbus, to New Orleans, Panama City, FL, and to the Chesapeake Bay. Frank had many friends that he enjoyed spending time with including Joe and Lee Harrell and Curtis and Peggy Edge who accompanied him on many trips. Frank loved being a husband and father; his family meant everything to him, his wife Katie was the joy of his life, and his sons and their families were a source of great delight where love abounded.
Preceded in death by: his wife, Katie Reames; and his father and mother, Benjamin Franklin Reames, Sr and Annie Sujette Jordan Reames.
Survivors include: his sons, Frank (Barbara) Reames, Ronnie (Libby) Reames; grandchildren, Sujette (Cliff) Lunsford, Benjamin Reames; great grandchildren, Alex Lunsford, Miah Lunsford, Joshua Lunsford.
