Columbus, GA- Elizabeth "Betty" Pearson, 89 of Columbus, GA, went to be with The Lord on February 12, 2018 under the loving care of Columbus Hospice. A private interment will be followed by a Memorial Celebration of Betty's Life at 12:00 pm on February 16, 2018 at St. Luke United Methodist Church, 1104 2nd Ave Columbus, GA, with visitation starting one hour prior to the service. Reverend Robert Beckum will officiate.

Betty was born September 10, 1928 in Columbus, GA to her late parents William and Elizabeth Joyner Rainey. She attended historical Wynnton Elementary, Columbus High School, and graduated from Shorter College in 1949. She was a sustaining member of the Columbus Junior League, the Columbus Museum, Historic Columbus, several Bridge Groups in Columbus and Auburn, The Big Eddy Club, the WMU at St. Luke UMC, and the Beckwith Club of Auburn University.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Pearson is preceded in death by: the love of her life and husband of 50 years, Jerre L. Pearson; her sister, Jane R. Gibson. She leaves behind: two daughters, Beth (Dean) Fulghom , and Patty Pearson; one son, Jerre L. ( Kerby) Pearson; five grandchildren, Lon Fulghom, William (Molly) Fulghom, Elizabeth Fulghom, her name sake Rainey Pearson (Walter) Brown, and Mitchell Pearson; great grandchildren, Catherine, Helen, and Dean Fulghom; her beloved sister, Dee Rainey; nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends.

Betty will be remembered by her countless acts of kindness to her friends and family. The family would like to express their deep appreciation for the loving care given at Gardens of Calvary over the last five years.
