Mrs. Pafford was born March 25, 1920 in Marianna, FL. She is the daughter of the late Charlie Leo Daffin and Myrtle Sills Daffin.
She was preceded in death by husband, Robert B. Pafford, Jr.; son, Robert Alan Pafford; three brothers and two sisters: Robert Angus Daffin, Lonnie Edgar Daffin, Johnnie Elie Daffin, Eva Evelyn Daffin Rachels, Minnie Ola Daffin Houseknecht and Ethel Jane Daffin Abercrombie.
Survivors include son, Stephen Pafford (wife Audrey Kurtz Pafford); daughter, Brenda Pafford (husband Richard A. Erickson); sister, Murlee Daffin Mizell; five grandchildren: Crystal Lynn, Robert Alan, Stephanie April, Hannah Jane and Marianna Elizabeth; also great and great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Pafford was a homemaker and, in later years, worked for her brothers in their grocery businesses. She was a long time member of North Highland Assembly of God and the New Horizons Sunday School class of North Highland and had many cherished friends from her church family.
The close-knit, loving family from Marianna, FL and then Columbus, GA, became closer and even more supportive of each other as the “children” married. The “in-laws” weren’t really “in-laws”; they became sons and daughters, brothers and sisters and beloved aunts and uncles. These beloved extended family members are: Eva Paul Daffin, Lunette Lolley Daffin, Talmadge Ray Rachels, Robert Berrien Pafford, Jr., Niles Monroe Houseknecht, James Leldon Abercrombie, Noah Samuel Mizell, and Martha Jean Elder Daffin.
She expressed her love to all she encountered and will be greatly missed by family and friends. Her children, particularly, will miss her wise counsel, which was always a combination of experience, common sense, love and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests charitable donation to Columbus Hospice, 7020 Moon Rd, Columbus, GA. Condolences may be offered at www.shcolumbus.com
