Born on May 30, 1935 to the late Millard Fillmore Sims and Elizabeth Usher Sims. Ann was the loving sister to the late Millard “Billy" Usher Sims and Mary Sims Blanton. Ann was a teacher at Jordan Vocational High School where she was one of the first to teach computer programing. She and her husband Richard Allen Lovett were married for 54 years at the time of her passing. Ann will be remembered for her love of family, her skills of keeping everyone on course, her love for her flowers she planted and the birds in her yard. Ann was an avid reader, keeping track as not to read a book over again. Her organizational skills were carried into keeping up with every ball game her grandsons played. Ann was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Columbus where she was a faithful member of the Sunshine Joy Sunday School Class. She was a graceful lady who loved her Lord.
Ann leaves her legacy to her loving husband of 54 years, Richard Allen Lovett, her daughter, Holly Ann Thompson and her husband Chuck, her grandsons, Luke Allen Thompson and Joshua Sims Thompson; her nephew, Robert Fillmore “Skip” Ellison and his wife Laurie; her niece, Ann Garrett and her great nephew, Windell Barfield.
