Edith Duggan Pickard November 19, 1925 - October 26, 2010 COLUMBUS, GA— Edith Duggan Pickard, age 84 of Columbus passed away on October 26, 2010. Funeral services will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd., Columbus on Friday, October 29, 2010 at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary on Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM. Mrs. Pickard was born on November 19, 1925 in Enigma, GA to the late John Lee Duggan and Nellie Ouzts Duggan. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Earl James Pickard, a sister, Inez Pettis and a brother, Curtis Duggan. Mrs. Pickard along with her husband Earl founded Georgia Fence Wholesale in 1971. She continued to work there up until her recent illness. Her kind, loving, generous, wise and gracious spirit touched the lives of everyone she met. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her two daughters, Debra and Steve Lowery of Midland and Jane Redmond of Columbus; three grandsons, Father Stephen Lowery of Pittsburgh, PA, David and Jennifer Lowery of Waverly Hall and Jonathan Redmond of Columbus; five great-grandchildren, a sister, Virginia Farmer of Tifton as well as numerous nieces and nephews and her Georgia Fence Wholesale Family.
