Mrs. Farley was born the daughter of the late I.D. Cooper and Claudie Mae Compton Cooper on November 6, 1925 in Elba, Alabama.
Funeral Services will be held at Fort Benning Main Post Cemetery, Fort Benning, GA on Friday, November 23, 2018 at 2:00 PM according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. The Farley family is asking in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Columbus Hospice House at www.columbushospice.com/donate.
Mrs. Farley enjoyed reading, music, traveling, ice cream, cooking, and gardening. She also loved to bowl and was a part of the local bowling league with her late husband, Doran V. Farley. As a dedicated woman to all things in life, she loyally stayed involved with her children, served as a faithful wife to her husband and was a proud member of South Columbus United Methodist Church and represented the church at their Methodist Conference. She also loved to tell stories about her grandmother and her life experiences.
She always taught her loved ones to appreciate life, have good work ethic and always encouraged her children in whatever choices they made. She was a loving mother that always had her children’s best interest at heart. She had a large family filled with four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. She loved her whole family with all her heart.
Mrs. Farley was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Compton E. Cooper; sister, Mavis D. Hanchey; and husband, Doran V. Farley.
She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Manring Todd (Dale) of Daleville, AL and Kathy Doreen Farley Moore (Von) of Columbus, GA; one son, Jimmy Manring of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Steven G. Todd (Crystal) of Enterprise, GA, Stacie M Wilkes of Ladonia, AL, C.V. Moore (Leah) of Columbus, GA and Allen Berry of Virginia; great grandchildren, Kayla M. Kelley (Patrick) of Dothan, AL, Taylor M. Todd (Katherine) of Enterprise, AL, Casey D. Yaronczyk (Samuel) of Enterprise, GA, Joshua D. Gonyea of Ladonia, AL, Ashlea C. Hand (Samuel) of Pittsburgh, PA, and Forrest Carnley of Birmingham, AL; one niece, Eden; five nephews, Freddy, Jerry, Wayne, Bud and Kenneth; Mrs. Farley also leaves numerous great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends to cherish her loving memory.
