David Paul Sorkey, MD (07/31/48) died on December 19, 2015 at Orchard View Rehabilitation Facility. He was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Naomi Skopp Sorkey and his paternal aunt Ruth Sorkovitz.
He is survived by his wife Fanny; sons, Michael and Steven; brother, Alan Sorkey, MD (Bethany); granddaughter, Kadyn; nieces, Leah and Laura; nephew Noah and a host of "families of the heart".
Dr. Sorkey was born in Norman, Oklahoma and grew up in Asheville, North Carolina. He attended Duke University and the Medical College of Georgia. His residency was at the Menninger Foundation in Topeka, Kansas.
Those wishing to express their memories of Dr. Sorkey will be provided an opportunity on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 pm in the Mill Room of Striffler-Hamby. There will be a private Celebration of Life.
