Mrs. Cora L. Lukehart was married to the late 1SG (Ret) Robert Lee “Luke” Lukehart. Together they made Columbus, Georgia home. She was Christian by faith and called Edgewood Baptist Church her church family. Mrs. Cora lived her life by example of her faith. She was loving, kind, caring and most of all generous. She was always giving not only of herself, but also with her resources to help those in need. Mrs. Cora shared her faith of Jesus Christ through ministry of music in her church, the Columbus area nursing homes and with The Valley Rescue Mission. When she visited the local nursing homes if the residents were not able to come into the common area where the piano was located, Mrs. Cora would bring her keyboard to the resident’s rooms. At 75, Mrs. Cora expanded her artistic talents to painting, sharing her paintings with family and friends over the years. She was a loving mother, nana and great nana. Mrs. Cora will be greatly missed by all who knew and especially loved her.
She leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her two daughters: Karen (Dan) Greene and Patty (David) Ely; her loving grandchildren: Amy (Todd) Spencer, Emily (Matt) Gotthelf, Robert (Rebecca) Ely, and Rachel (Colton) Jones; her very adored great grandchildren: Kali Ely, Luke Ely, Reese Ely, Abigail Spencer, Colby Spencer, and Charlotte Gotthelf; numerous nieces, nephews and great friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. “Luke” Lukehart, her parents, Flossie and Belton Livingston; and her 7 beloved siblings.
