Clinton Johnson served in the US Army 197th Infantry Brigade 2-69 Armor for 7 years during Desert Shield as a M1-A1 tank driver, 1987-1993. He shot the big, big guns!
Clinton (Bubba) took the time talk to everyone he met, talking to everyone on the phone, tinkering with model cars/tanks, artist, and he could fix anything he put his hands on. He was one of the good guys with a big heart.
In lieu of flowers you can donate to the VFW & his daughter, Brittany Porter on behalf of his granddaughters.
He wrote: “Still want my ashes (some) and to be fired out of a 120mm tank, put me down range. I know that will never happen but it would be worth a shot (for sure).”
We have decided as a family to spread his ashes in Bell, FL in May 2023 on his wedding date with his wife, Donna.
From his work at Industrial Metal Fabricator in Columbus, GA: “Clint was a treasured employee for 28 years. He was the most talented painter I have ever been around. His attention to detail was unmatched. Clint treated each paint project like it was a masterpiece, never satisfied with any defects. He had a unique ability to analyze and determine a solution for any challenges we had in the shop. We relied on Clint quite a bit to help with special projects.
I personally enjoyed talking with Clint about old car projects and hearing his stories about life in the Army and his time in Iraq. He will truly be missed.”
We all will miss you so much and know you are in heaven with Donna.
