She was born May 19th, 1927 in Troy, Alabama to John Henry Lott and Arie Lee Lott (Tillery).
Carolyn moved with her family to Columbus, GA in 1939. Shethen met Hugh Lassiter in 1959 and they married November 11th, 1961. There they raised their two sons and were married 41 years until his death in 2002.
Carolyn was a member of Central Christian Church for 61 years in Columbus, GA and served as a Sunday School teacher for many of those years.
Carolyn will be remembered to all as a very generous and caring person but mostly for her unconditional love for her children and grandchildren. She dedicated herself towards creating beautiful moments with her family and telling funny stories followed by her infamous “belly” laugh.
Carolyn is survived by her two sons, David M. Lassiter (April) of Lee’s Summit, MO and John R. Lassiter (Colleen) of Rome, GA, grandchildren Madison Rushin (Ryan), Grace Lassiter, and Matthew Lassiter. Hugh Lassiter (Husband), James Sanders Lott Sr. (Brother) and parents preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held from 12:45pm to 1:45pm at Striffler Hamby Funeral Home 4071 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA 31907 on Thursday, July 28th. Graveside service to follow at Parkhill Cemetery 4161 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA 31907. Flowers can be sent to funeral home.
