Bridget Darlene Cooper

Bridget Darlene Cooper, 60, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at St. Francis Hospital. Funeral services will be held at Beallwood Baptist Church on Friday, June 10, 2022, at 2PM with visitation starting at 12:30PM at the church. Darlene will be laid to rest at Parkhill Cemetery.

Born in Columbus, Georgia on October 4, 1961, to the late, Charles Devon McLendon and Mary Emma Langford McLendon. Darlene is a 1979 graduate of Kendrick High School and went on to work for Columbus State University where she dedicated 25 years before her retirement. She was very well loved by all who knew her. She loved attending church at Beallwood Baptist and enjoyed helping with Vacation Bible School. If there was a job needed to be done Darlene was going to get the job done.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary Emma McLendon; grandparents, Whitey and Audie Langford, Bennie and Magie McLendon.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband of 22 years, David Cooper; brother, Bennie Lee McLendon (Dawn) of Valdosta; sisters, Kimberly Joy Cruz (Carl) of Valdosta, Heather Lynn Green (Michael) of Kentucky; sister-in-laws, Tina Lamberson, Betsy Richards; nieces and nephews, Logan McLendon, Kelsi McLendon; Carl Jr. Cruz, Courtlin Cruz, Brittany Mason, David Cruz, Lance Cruz, Christopher Cruz, Jordan Green, Kimberly Green, Bubba Williams, Joshua Williams, Sharon Williams, Brittany Alpin, Monica Alpin, Amanda Alpin, Shawn Lamberson, and Shelli Lamberson.
