A Graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 11:00 AM in Riverdale Cemetery, Columbus, Georgia.
Mrs. Doughtie was born January 13, 1925 at Midland, Georgia, daughter of Morris Malachi Bowden and Ruth Wood Bowden. She graduated from Columbus High School in 1944 and later from Truman Smith Business School. Mrs. Doughtie was employed and retired from The Woodruff Brown Company. She taught the MYF, a youth group at Midland United Methodist Church. Mrs. Doughtie is presently a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Good News Sunday School class. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Mrs. Doughtie is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Rebecca Bowden Graddy.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Mr. Charles P. Doughtie Jr.; two daughters, Donna R. Doughtie and Lauren (Brian) Bush; son, Charles P. “Chuck” Doughtie III; granddaughter, Kelli (Jerremy) Crutcher and great-granddaughters, Chloe Crutcher and Layla Crutcher; brother-in-law Durwood Graddy; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
