Bettie Gilbert Davis

Bettie Gilbert Davis, 96, of Columbus, Ga., died Thursday, November 10, 2022 at her residence. A family graveside funeral service will be held Monday, November 14, 2022 at 2:00 pm EST in Rosemere Cemetery in Opelika, Al., according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Columbus.

Mrs. Davis was born October 7, 1926 in Columbus, Ga., daughter of Robert Lee and Gertie Hart Gilbert. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Davis and her son Robert Davis. She retired after 35 years with the Muscogee County School District as a Payroll Supervisor for school food services. After retiring she owned a local catering company with her two friends, Bobbie Hiller and Ann Irvin. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church in Columbus.

Survivors include her daughter, Ann Flynn, her brother, Robert Lee Gilbert, Jr. Grandchildren, Ellen Flynn, Kate Knotts (Andrew), Laura Stokes (Ryne), Emily Green (Matt), Leslie Ginn (Andy), Leah Stewart (Kyle), Jeffrey Davis, and Robert Davis. 8 Great Grandchildren.
